Hello all,

As a review for those of you who were present, and a synopsis for those who were not, I present the following info from Monday's meeting of the planning committee for the UCLA/UCSB Human Nature and Society Group.

Preliminary Schedule

2001-2002 Academic Year

Alan Fiske = UCLA Campus Coordinator
John Tooby = UCSB Campus Coordinator

• Nov. 3 - HNAS Mini-conference, Haines Hall, UCLA, 10-6, dinner to follow
  
• Feb. 2 - HNAS Mini-conference, UCSB, 10-6, dinner to follow
  
• Feb. 3 - Planning committee meeting, UCSB
  • Principal topics: IGERT training grant, private fundraising
    
• May 4 -  HNAS Mini-conference, Haines Hall, UCLA, 10-6, dinner to follow

2002-2003 Academic Year

• Fall - HNAS Mini-conference, UCSB, 10-6, dinner to follow

Means

• Create a HNAS web site that serves as a clearinghouse for info on activities and personnel at LA/SB
• Advertise the HNAS Group
• Create undergraduate courses in HNAS
• Joint HNAS projects in applied fields
• Seek joint appointments for HNAS scholars across departments
• CREATE A 'SMALL C' CENTER LINKING UCLA & UCSB
• Write an IGERT training grant
• Seek private funding via Development Offices; host a Big Star (i.e., Pinker) talk for a development evening at each campus

Please let me know if there are any errors or omissions.
Somebody should keep track of all of this stuff.  I nominate somebody else.
