Abstract
Responds to the D. L. Chiappe & A. Kukla (1996) argument that relevance theory fails to solve the frame problem as defined by J. A. Fodor (1983). The current authors believe that in this case, they are right. They are wrong, however, to take Fodor's frame problem too seriously. Fodor's concerns, although they are wrongly framed, are worth addressing. The authors argue that relevance theory helps address these concerns.
