| XMMS 1 Jan 2004 Summary 2004-01-01 Update The beep media player -- a port of xmms to GTK2 -- is still buggy, but it looks great and has a fun developer community. I wish someone would do the same to xine -- actually, I guess they have and it's called gxine! So it turns out gxine comes with a good list of multimedia mrls, and plays them great (some are dead). xmms will fail on this: xmms http://62.153.249.30/live_dlfso I can't use it to play radio (that's Deutschlandfunk, with nice classical music and a European feel). However, beep doesn't fail! OTOH beep causes a massive QT fault on trying to open a playlist (you have to restart windows), so don't do that until there's an upgrade. |
